The Citrus Greening CURES program provides both course based and traditional research opportunities for undergraduate students in genome annotation. The program is built around a collaborative network of scientists, professors and students from Indian River State College, the Boyce Thompson Institute, Kansas State University, University of Cincinnati and USDA-ARS. The research focuses on using bioinformatics to identify and characterize genes in the genome of the Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri, which is the vector of the citrus greening disease.
